It was a great privilege for us to welcome the Chelsea Pensioners Bowls Club to celebrate our Centenary Year.

They marched into our grounds with their piper wearing their 'Scarlets' which looked incredible.

This sight caused many a teary eye as it was extremely emotional.
The weather was perfect and the game was good fun with plenty of laughter.
We enjoyed a lovely meal after the game when they shared their own stories with us which was very interesting. The piper again gave us a musical recital.
The memories we made will stay with us forever.

Our Centenary Match

Saturday 25 July 2026

"What a great day we had this afternoon with the special game against W&DBA.

Although we lost it was great fun with plenty of laughter.

All the compliments we had today about the food, the green and the hospitality we should all be proud to be part of such a club.
Many thanks to everyone who made today so enjoyable"

"Thank you everyone who helped make this a success.

The team who prepared the green and set the equipment out, those involved in food preparation, their able assistants and of course our players and supporters.

We were heavily defeated but these games are not about that,

it's about celebrating our wonderful history and reputation.

Thanks to all whatever your role was"

Centenary Invitation Match 2026

A memorable & enjoyable occasion for everyone involved

As the Press Officer for Croxley Guild Bowls Club, I was honoured to be part of such a special day on Sunday as part of our Centenary year celebrations. The club travelled to the Royal Household Bowls Club, set within the magnificent grounds of Windsor Castle, for what proved to be a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone involved.

We were delighted that Croxley Guild came away with a win, but more importantly the day was about bringing people together to celebrate our club's 100th year.

With lots of players and spectators making the journey, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The celebrations continued afterwards and we all sat down for a meal together before leaving Windsor and heading home on the coach.

This is just one of many special events planned during our Centenary year, and it was a fantastic way to mark this important milestone in the club's history.
